The City’s Code Enforcement Unit enforces the codes and ordinances that
cover signage, overgrowth, junk, disabled, abandoned or improperly parked
vehicles and substandard housing. The Unit processes approximately 3,200 cases per year.
A
Special Magistrate Hearing is held once a month to address difficult cases. The Special Magistrate
determines if violations exist, issues orders requiring correction by a
certain date and imposes fines.
The Code Enforcement Unit works closely with the citizens through community meetings and
believes City residents deserve to live in neighborhoods where their quality of
life issues are met and monitored.
