CRA Board Vacancies
The City of Winter Haven is accepting applications to fill vacancies for Seats #1 and #2 on its Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board. The CRA Board was established by Resolution R-00-07, adopted by the City Commission, March 13, 2000, and amended by Resolution R-01-09 to expand the board from five members to seven members at the Regular City Commission meeting, April 9, 2001.
The Board’s seven members, five of whom are City Commissioners, and two appointed from the public by the City Commission. The two appointed members must reside in or be engaged in business, which means owning a business, practicing a profession, or performing a service for compensation, or serving as an officer or director of a corporation or other business entity, within the City. The two appointed members shall fill two seats for four-year terms. However, the initial term for Seat #1 shall be for a two-year appointment for the purpose of staggering the terms. Seats #1 and #2 will expire after the September 12, 2017, CRA Board meeting. It is anticipated they will be appointed or reappointed at the November 13, 2017 City Commission meeting.
The CRA board meets quarterly (March, June, September and December – unless otherwise noted), at 5 p.m., the second Monday, at Winter Haven City Hall, John Fuller Auditorium, 451 Third Street, NW.
