The Department of Leisure & Environmental Services is committed to enriching the lives or our citizens by providing an infinite selection of exceptional, meaningful, life-long leisure opportunities.
 
  

The Leisure & Environmental Services' Department is comprised of 86 fulltime employees and 131 part-time employees, dedicated to bringing fun to our community.  More specifically, the department is responsible for all City sponsored and co-sponsored recreational activities, community athletic programs for youth and adults, Willowbrook Golf Course, the Winter Haven Public Library, Cleveland Indians Spring Training and the day-to-day operation and maintenance of a variety of community centers and public parks.  The department’s Landscape Services Division is also responsible for the grounds maintenance at various City facilities and along numerous roadways throughout Winter Haven.

Community Athletics
The Community Athletics' Division is comprised of the Willowbrook Golf Course, DiamondPlex Softball Complex, Winter Haven Tennis Center and the Rowdy Gaines and Winter Haven Recreational & Cultural Center (WHRCC) swimming pools.  The division is responsible for the development and implementation of youth and adult athletic programs, coordination for tournaments and competitions and serves as a liaison with area youth sports leagues.

Landscape Services
The Landscape Services' Division is responsible for the landscape maintenance at all City parks and most City facilities.  In addition, the division maintains all athletic fields including Sertoma Park, WHRCC, DiamondPlex, the Chain of Lakes Stadium and numerous rights-of-way and roadway beautification projects throughout the City.

Recreation & Culture
The Recreation & Culture Division is comprised of the Chain of Lakes Complex, the Winter Haven Recreational & Cultural Center (WHRCC) , the Winter Haven Senior Adult Center, Rotary Park and the Winter Haven Public Library.  The division is responsible for the day-to-day operations at each of these facilities and all related programming, including after school and summer youth activities, instructional classes and special events.
