After School Program at Winter Haven Recreational & Cultural Center

Winter Haven Recreational & Cultural Center is located in the northeastern quadrant of Winter Haven.  This facility has two (2) lighted youth baseball/softball fields, an indoor gymnasium, a 25-meter pool, physical conditioning facilities (both free weights and machines), a meeting room, kitchen facilities, a game room and a conference room.  This facility offers numerous activities for youth and adults including athletic leagues, after school and summer youth programs, a community youth band program and rental opportunities.

The Winter Haven Recreational & Cultural Center pool is open in the summer from mid-May through the end of July. Programs offered include open swimming from 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. seven (7) days a week and swim lessons. The pool is ‘L’ shaped, measuring 25 yards x 25 meters.

Monday through Thursday
8 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Friday
8 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Saturday & Sunday
12 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Except holidays as observed by the City.

 

  Youth Programs:
 
 
 

Operation Kid Care: Thanksgiving

Session Dates: November 22nd, 23rd, 24th
Days & Times: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Age: Kindergarten-6th Grade
Information: (863) 291-5675
Resident Fee: $10 per child.
Non-Resident Fee: $20 per child.
Registration Info: Register at the center starting November 8th.

Children will participate in various recreational activities including: crafts, games, sports and more!  Children will need to bring a lunch and a snack for the morning and afternoon along with a great desire to have FUN!

Operation Kid Care: Winter Break

Session Dates: December 22nd through December 31st
Days & Times: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Age: Kindergarten-6th Grade

Resident Fee: $25 per child.
Non-Resident Fee: $35 per child.
Registration Info: Register at the center starting December 1st.

  Exercise Programs:
 
 

Senior Exercise Class

Session Dates: Ongoing (Beginning November 22nd)
Days & Times: Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Age: Adult

Fee: $5 one time fee.
Registration Info: 15 minutes prior to start of class.

Seniors will participate in basic exercises that will benefit the heart, muscles and flexibility.  Come dressed in sneakers and comfortable clothing and be ready to work and have fun.

Fitness Center

Come take advantage of the fitness center at Winter Haven Recreational & Cultural Center.  The facility has two fitness rooms, one that features free weights and the other features weight machines, which are great for the novice fitness enthusiast.  Staff is onsite to assist if help is needed to work the machines.

Your muscles burn calories during physical activity.  Your muscles also burn calories when your body is at rest.  Increase your muscle mass and you'll be increasing your body's capacity to burn calories both during activity and at rest.

Jr. Magic Basketball League

Session Dates: November 27th through February 18th
Days & Times: Games are played on Saturdays
Age: 5-16 years old

Children are invited to participate in a basketball experience!  The cost includes a uniform, one 'end of season' banquet ticket and an award. Games and practices take place at the Winter Haven Recreational and Cultural Center.
