Purge Your Pills 2016

Posted October 19th, 2016

WINTER HAVEN – Citizens have the opportunity to safely dispose of their prescription medications this Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Winter Haven Police Department.

The Winter Haven Police Department is partnering with StandUp Polk as a drop-off point for the unwanted or expired human and pet medications.

The Department currently has a permanent drop box in place allowing citizens to dispose of prescription medications at the Police Department. The hours are Mon. – Fri. during normal business hours.  This “Purge Your Pills” event gives residents another opportunity outside of the regular work week.

There is no need to have any identification to drop off the medications or fill out any forms. “We’re not asking anyone to identify themselves,” said Chief Charlie Bird. “All we’re asking is for the medicines to be dropped off.”

For more information about the program, contact Jamie Brown at 863-291-5858.
