Winter Haven Police Receives CFA Re-Accreditation For Fifth Time
The Winter Haven Police Department is pleased to announce their re-accreditation through the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA), earning the Excelsior Recognition status. This is the fifth re-accreditation through CFA that the Department has earned. The agency received its original accreditation in 2002. The Excelsior Recognition is awarded to the finest criminal justice agencies in the State of Florida that maintain accreditation without condition for 15 consecutive years.
A ceremony was held on 11-1-17 in Westin and attended by Mayor Steven Hunnicutt, City Manager Mike Herr along with members from the Winter Haven Police Department.
“Going through the Law Enforcement Accreditation process validates our professional approach to providing law enforcement services to the citizens and businesses in our City,” said City Manager Mike Herr. “Being recognized for a 5th re-accreditation enhances the credibility of our Police Department for recruiting purposes because only the best candidates will want to work for our City, which is a good deal for our citizens. It builds trust between all neighborhoods in our City and the Winter Haven Police Department.”
The designation through CFA ensures that the Winter Haven Police Department adheres to the stringent practices in law enforcement and holds a competency that is highly valued in the State of Florida
