The Recreation and Culture Unit is comprised of the Chain O' Lakes Complex, the Winter Haven Recreational and Cultural Center, the Winter Haven Senior Adult Center and Rotary Park. The division is responsible for the day-to-day operations at each of these facilities and all related programming including after school and summer youth activities, and instructional classes.


Our Sites:

Chain O' Lakes Complex
The Chain O' Lakes Complex features fitness and creative arts programs, including classes for tae kwon do, tai chi, fencing, judo, boxing fitness, guitar and dance. Several rooms are available to rent for seminars, wedding receptions, birthday parties, banquets, trade shows and much more. Our staff will assist you with set-ups and maintaining all audio and visual equipment requirements. The facilities are available Monday through Saturday starting as early as 7:30 a.m. and finishing by midnight.

Winter Haven Recreational & Cultural Center (WHRCC)
Winter Haven Recreational & Cultural Center (WHRCC) is located in Winter Haven's northeast community. This facility has two lighted youth baseball/softball fields, an indoor gymnasium, a 25-meter pool, physical conditioning facilities (both free weights and machines), a meeting room, kitchen facilities, a game room and a conference room. Numerous activities for youth and adults include athletic leagues, after school and summer youth programs, a community youth band program and rental opportunities.

Winter Haven Senior Adult Center
Located on the corner of Third Street Northwest and Lake Silver Drive, the Winter Haven Senior Adult Center plays host to a wide variety of recreational programs and activities for those 50 and older. Musical entertainment, holiday parties, special interest speakers, classes, activities, social groups and shuffleboard are only a small sampling of opportunities. The facility also has 24 shuffleboard courts and a large auditorium-style hall available for rentals.


Rotary Park
Rotary Park was built in 1954 and renovated in 1998. The facility offers one youth baseball field, a skate park, a sand volleyball court, an outdoor basketball court and a competition horseshoe area. In addition, the Rotary Park Clubhouse has one large meeting room and a full kitchen that are available for private rentals and classes. The park also has a large playground and covered picnic pavilion.
