CITY OF WINTER HAVEN
AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMITTEE (AAC)
The City of Winter Haven currently has one (1) seat available on its Airport Advisory Committee (AAC). The available seat will be filled based on qualified applications to fill an existing three-year term, which began August 8, 2019, and will expire August 8, 2022. This committee meets every month at the Winter Haven Regional Airport, in the Jack Brown Conference Room, 2073 US Highway 92 West, Winter Haven, Florida.
The AAC, established by the City Commission of the City of Winter Haven, Florida for the City of Winter Haven Municipal Airport at Gilbert Field (hereafter the “Airport”) via the adoption of Ordinance O-13-04. The AAC was intended to assist the City in an advisory capacity in the efficient and effective exchange of communication of issues and ideas relating to the protection and preservation of the Airport. The AAC has the following duties:
- Advise the City Manager or designee, and report to the City Commission on a periodic basis concerning all matters affecting the Airport, including but not limited to safety, security, emergency planning, airspace, runway protection zone encroachments, capital improvements, projects, hangar construction and operation, businesses operating at the airport, and coordination with the state aviation system plan, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Federal Communications Commission, the Southwest Florida Water Management District, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the board of county commissioners of Polk County, Florida and such other planning and coordination efforts as may be necessary to the safe, efficient and proper operation, maintenance and expansion of the Airport.

All completed applications must be returned to the City Clerk by Friday, February 18, 2022. All applications will be reviewed by the Airport Advisory Committee, with an official recommendation being presented to the City Commission.
