For the last few months, an intersection improvement has been under construction by a private developer where County road 653, Old Lake Wales Rd., and Old Bartow Lake Wales Rd. come together.

The newly constructed single-lane roundabout is now open to the public for traffic. Some minor construction activities are still pending, but traffic can now move in all directions through this intersection.
