City of Winter Haven Continues To Monitor Hurricane Dorian
As Hurricane Dorian continues to churn off the coast of Florida, the City of Winter Haven will have representatives from essential services in the City’s EOC to include streets, traffic, utilities and parks to monitor crews out in the field ensuring the City services are watched and any issues can be taken care of immediately.
City Hall, Account Services, Senior Center and the Public Library will be closed Tuesday, September 3 and will resume normal operations on Wednesday, September 4, 2019.
The City’s solid waste division will not run on Tuesday, Sept. 3 out of an abundance of caution with receptacles being placed on the streets and the possibility of debris if we were to incur strong wind gusts. Solid waste will run a modified schedule as follows:
Regular day: Monday – Pick up Wednesday, Sept. 4
Regular Day: Tuesday – Pick up on Thursday, Sept. 5
Regular Day: Thursday – Pick up on Friday, Sept. 6
Regular Day: Friday – Pick up on Saturday, Sept. 7
Normal operations for solid waste will resume on Monday, Sept. 9, 2019.
If there are any changes on the movement of Hurricane Dorian, some services could be affected, however, we are dedicated to keeping the citizens of Winter Haven informed and will release updates as they become available.
