Public Notice – Notice of Public Hearings – November 9, 2020

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS

CITY OF WINTER HAVEN

Notice is hereby given that at its Regular City Commission Meeting, the Winter Haven City Commission will hold SECOND READINGS-PUBLIC HEARINGS on the proposed ordinances set forth below at 6:00 p.m. or soon thereafter Monday, November 9, 2020.

The City Commission meeting and the Public Hearings will be held at the Nora Mayor Hall at the Florida Citrus Building located at 500 Third Street, N.W., Winter Haven, Florida, which will be open for members of the public on the above-mentioned date and time.  Social distancing and other Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Florida Department of Health (FDOH) guidelines pertaining to COVID-19 will be followed and observed.

ORDINANCE NO. O-20-41

 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 11-03, THE 2025 WINTER HAVEN COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, BY REVISING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP SERIES BY AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE ON A PARCEL FROM COMMERCIAL FUTURE LAND USE TO  TRADITIONAL NEIGHBORHOOD AREA FUTURE LAND USE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR THE ADMINISTRATIVE CORRECTION OF SCRIVENER’S ERRORS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. (General Location: The vacant parcel located at the northeast corner of the intersection of Avenue O, SW and Recker Highway.  The area covered by this request is 2.46± acres.)

 ORDINANCE NO. O-20-42

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WINTER HAVEN, FLORIDA, BY REZONING A PARCEL FROM Highway commercial (C-3) ZONING DISTRICT TO Multi-family residential- LOW density (R-3) zoning district; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. (General Location: The vacant parcel located at the northeast corner of the intersection of Avenue O, SW and Recker Highway.  The area covered by this request is 2.46± acres.)

 ORDINANCE NO. O-20-43

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21, ARTICLE II, DIVISION 2, TABLE 21-32(A) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WINTER HAVEN, FLORIDA BY AMENDING AND ADDING USES RELATED TO MULTI-UNIT RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS; PROVIDING FOR ADMINISTRATIVE CORRECTION OF SCRIVENER’S ERRORS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

ORDINANCE NO. O-20-44

AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WINTER HAVEN, FLORIDA, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN ADDITIONAL TERRITORY LYING CONTIGUOUS AND ADJACENT TO THE PRESENT BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF WINTER HAVEN, FLORIDA; DESCRIBING SAID ADDITIONAL TERRITORY; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;  PROVIDING FOR ADMINISTRATIVE CORRECTION OF SCRIVENER’S ERRORS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. (General Location:  The parcel located west of Conine Drive West, approximately 280 feet south of Hyland Avenue.  The area covered by this request is 6.04± acres.)

If any person decides to appeal any decision made by the City Commission with respect to any matters considered at such hearings, he/she will need a record of the proceeding and for such purpose he/she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceeding is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based (F.S. 286.0105). Please be advised individuals must make their own arrangements to produce this record.

The City Commission may continue the public hearings to other dates and times as it deems necessary.  Any interested party shall be advised that the date, time and place of any continuation of these or continued public hearings may be announced during the hearing and that no further notices regarding this matter may be published.
