Happy 100th Birthday to the beautiful Ms. Rosie Chosewood! Mayor Dantzler had the honor of visiting her at New Horizon’s last week to present a proclamation honoring this amazing milestone. Please join us in wishing her an absolutely joy-filled birthday!

Mayor Brad Dantzler presents Rosie Chosewood with a proclamation celebrating her 100th birthday.
Below is the full proclamation:
WHEREAS, Rose Marie Chosewood was born in Fulton County, Atlanta, Georgia on March 23, 1922; and
WHEREAS, Rose Marie has been recognized by the New Horizon Assisted Living Residence as the eldest current resident, having moved there in July 2015. The staff often compliments her for being neat, clean, caring for others, and very independent. She is considered to be amazing for being blessed with
vim, vigor and great health; and
WHEREAS, Rose Marie met her beloved husband Raymond in the first grade. They shared 60 years of a beautiful marriage. She often states that her wedding day “was the happiest day of her life.” Raymond was the heart and soul of generosity. They enjoyed road trips, swinuning, and going to the movies.
Although they did not have children of their own, their lovely dogs were like their children; and
WHEREAS, Rose Marie is a symbol of wisdom, a symbol of love, understanding, faith, peace, joy, longevity, and God’s grace; and
WHEREAS, whenever Rose Marie is asked how she has managed to live to be 100 years old, she responds it is because she serves the Lord, who has blessed her and says she will serve Him until she goes on to be with Him.
NOW, THEREFORE, 1, Bradley T. Dantzler, Mayor of the City of Winter Haven, Florida, do hereby proclaim March 23, 2022 as ROSE MARIE CHOSEWOOD DAY” in the City of Winter Haven and urge citizens to join us in celebration of her birthday, a wonderful milestone, and in recognizing her spirit of continuous love and joy.
