The City of Winter Haven and Walker Consultants cordially invite you to complete a survey about the current and future conditions for Downtown Winter Haven Parking and Mobility.
Walker Consultants will be on hand to provide a presentation of their initial findings outlining their segmented approach toward studying various sub-regions of the downtown. During the presentation, Walker’s team of Tampa-based representatives will discuss an array of industry best practice opportunities demonstrating their experience working with other destination communities throughout the southeast and State of Florida. After which, an opportunity for you to share your public input toward implementable solutions will greatly benefit the
preparation and direction of the team’s findings and recommendations.
We look forward to seeing and learning from you at the Winter Haven Public Library on Thursday, May 5 at 6:00.
Background
The City seeks the services of a qualified parking and mobility consultant to prepare a unified and coordinated parking plan to effectively maximize existing and future public parking availability and utilization within its downtown core. Bound by Avenue D NW to the north, Avenue C SW to the south, 6th Street SW to the west, and 1st Street South to the east, the City currently provides as many as 1,300± public parking spaces under a combined on- and off-street mix. Approximately 270± public parking spaces are being provided by the City’s parking structure located in the central vicinity of 3rd Street NW and Avenue A NW. It has been estimated that this parking inventory is often occupied at 70% during typical peak operating hours.
