Salary and Benefits:
- $14.80 per hour minimum.
Essential Job Functions:
Assist in organizing and implementing all aspects of recreational activities for our Summer Camp Programs. You will be expected to prepare and disseminate information about programs and leisure opportunities offered; operate a computerized customer database. Operate office and maintenance equipment to include but is not limited to a computer; cash register, telephone, and other equipment used in conjunction with the operation of recreational facilities; clean the facility areas as necessary; maintain accurate facility maintenance records. Open and close the facility for operation. Provide excellent customer service to everyone encountered. This is not intended to be an all-inclusive listing of essential job functions; the performance of other essential functions may be required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of general recreation programs and operating procedures, the ability to operate office and maintenance equipment, and have a thorough understanding of how to use a computer. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, and the general public. Ability to use independent judgment and make decisions about work tasks.
Minimum Education & Experience:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. One year of experience in organized or specialized recreational activities. An equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be directly related to the foregoing specific requirements may be substituted.
Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license and a good driving record as determined by the City of Winter Haven. Absence of non-prescribed controlled substances in the applicant’s system as verified by a laboratory approved by the City of Winter Haven. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and summer holidays.
