City of Winter Haven Notice of Funds Availability

The City of Winter Haven has approximately $200,592 from Program Year 2021-22; $533,975 from Program Year 2022-23; and, additional combined prior years’ funds in the amount of $352,114 remaining from the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) which are now available for housing activities that are designed for eligible very low, low, and moderate income households based on the following categories by priority:
- Emergency Repairs
- Housing Rehabilitation
- Down Payment Assistance
Applications for assistance will be accepted beginning September 1, 2023 and will be ranked for assistance on a first-qualified, first-served, basis with funding priority given to those qualifying under the Special Needs categories which includes the following conditions:
- Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Veteran’s Administration Disability (VA)
- Developmental Disabilities
- Young adults aging out of foster care Survivors of domestic violence
- Disabling condition (a diagnosable substance abuse disorder; serious mental health condition; developmental disability; or, chronic physical illness or disability.)
Applications received in excess of 50 (fifty) will be placed on a waiting list and will be reviewed after a determination is made on the first fifty.
Applications will be available online at www.mywinterhaven.com and at Winter Haven City Hall, 451 Third Street NW, Winter Haven, FL 33881, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
