The Library is Reopening June 5th

The Winter Haven Public Library will be reopening with reduced hours on Friday June 5th at 9am.

The new temporary service hours will be:

Building Hours

Monday – Thursday 10am – 6pm
Friday & Saturday 9am – 3pm

Full-Service Walk-Up Window

Monday – Thursday 9am – 6pm
Friday & Saturday 9am – 5pm

What can I expect when I visit the library?

Main seating area and bookstacks

  • Library capacity is limited to 50%
  • Limited seating is available to allow for physical distancing
  • Patrons are encouraged to maintain physical distance and limit their time in the building
  • Hand sanitizer and wipes are available for patron use
  • Newspapers, magazines, flyers, and other high-touch print materials will not be available for browsing at this time


  • Computers have been spread out to allow for physical distancing
  • Usage time is limited to 1.5 hours
  • Reservations will be required and can be made in-house or via phone
    • Advanced appointments are not required, but are encouraged
    • Technology help will not be provided except in cases where physical distancing can be maintained
  • Fax and scanning services have been temporarily suspended
  • iPads and computers in the youth department will be unavailable

Programs and meeting spaces

  • Study rooms, meeting rooms, the Sensory Room, and the SEEDLab are unavailable for public use at this time
  • All in-person library programs, events, and classes have been cancelled
  • We will continue to offer programming virtually via library social media
