The 2023 MLK Celebration Steering committee made up of local community members has selected the award-winning film, 42, to screen for the entire Winter Haven community to enjoy. 42 is a movie starring the late Chadwick Boseman which depicts MLB legend, Jackie Robinson, who was the first black athlete to play in the MLB and his early career with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Concessions will be sold, and we will have a phenomenal moderator to help us facilitate thought-provoking conversations with participants. This event will take place at the Historic Ritz Theatre on Thursday, January 12th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
