Code Compliance

The City’s Code Compliance Division enforces the codes and ordinances that cover signage, overgrowth, junk, inoperable vehicles, improperly parked vehicles and substandard housing. The Division processes approximately 3,200 cases per year.  Visit the City’s Code Compliance link HERE

Attention property owners who currently have unpaid Code Compliance liens:In light of the current financial crisis many citizens of Winter Haven face during these uncertain times, a limited-duration Lien Amnesty Program has been instituted through the City of Winter Haven Code Compliance Division. This Program will allow property owners to have their Code Compliance fines reduced up to 95% (or maximum of $1,000 whichever is less). The Lien Amnesty Program started January 1, 2021 and ends June 30, 2021. Upon acceptance of the agreement with the City, property owners have 30 days to pay the reduced lien amount.  (For specifics regarding the Lien Amnesty Program, click here)

“This program is a big step to give property owners a way to come into compliance,” said Public Safety Director Charlie Bird. “We are not about fines, but ensuring our City is safe for all residents and visitors.”
