Public Invited To Comment On Department for CALEA Re-Accreditation
The Winter Haven Police Department is scheduled for an assessment as part of a program to achieve re-accreditation by verifying it meets professional standards Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.
As part of the assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session on March 10th, 2020 at 5:30pm. The session will be conducted in the Winter Haven Police Department Community Room located at 125 N. Lake Silver Dr. NW Winter Haven Fl. 33880; a time limit for each speaker will be 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA law enforcement standards.
Agency employees and the public are also invited to offer comments by calling
863-251-4803 on March 10th, 2020 between the hours of 2-4pm. Comments will be taken by the Assessment Team a time limit for each call excepted is 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA law enforcement standards.
