INTRODUCTION

This comprehensive plan, adopted unanimously by the City Commission on July 22, 2024, is designed to guide our City's decision-making, policies, and operations over the next five years. Developed through extensive public engagement, data analysis, and strategic visioning, the plan focuses on creating a sustainable, vibrant, and inclusive future for all residents.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Economic Sustainability: Foster innovation and partnerships to ensure a skilled workforce, promote equitable access to opportunities, and manage growth through robust public engagement.
  • Quality of Life: Enhance happiness, health, and fulfillment by maximizing attainable housing, supporting community partnerships, and ensuring recreational access.
  • Infrastructure: Maintain strong partnerships for transportation planning, develop actionable water resource strategies, and embrace new technology.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Care for natural resources, emphasize sustainability, and integrate environmentally friendly practices.
  • Community Safety: Ensure residents, businesses, and visitors feel secure and prepared by protecting public safety and maintaining order.
  • Responsible Government: Manage resources wisely, incorporate citizen input, ensure transparency and accountability, and foster community partnerships.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

 The development of this Strategic Plan involved input from more the community through a community survey and the contributions of more than 150 community members to a SWOT analysis, including residents, business leaders, and local organizations. The community survey continues to be distrusted twice per year to collect ongoing feedback. This collaborative effort ensures that the plan reflects the community's needs and priorities.

IMPLEMENTATION AND ACCOUNTABILITY

Each strategy within the plan includes specific actions, responsible parties, timelines, and metrics to ensure measurable progress. Regular reviews and updates will ensure the plan remains adaptable and responsive to emerging challenges and opportunities.

STAY INFORMED

We will provide monthly to the City Commission at the first monthly Agenda Review Session, focusing on one pillar each month. These meetings are open to the public, and the updates will also be made available to the public through livestreaming of the meeting on YouTube and recaps posted in the days following the meeting.
